Entering late game
Late game begins after crafting your first Special Pact and reaching higher Faction ranks. The full Pact upgrade tree opens, and endgame activities including The Cogah hard mode and Siege events become relevant.
- All three Virtue types are viable at this stage but each has specific strengths and weaknesses per encounter
- Resistance-pierce items become important — verify current resist interactions in-game as they change between Preludes updates
- Siege events (Mirifuir, Fort Kearnhold, Fort Curlail) offer weapon fragments, runes, and crafting mats on a 3-hour loop
Priority order
- Craft a Special Pact matching your preferred Virtue — Ode Tempest (Courage), Garren Rood or Orengall (Spirit), or Sirin / Duelo (Grace) are the primary options
- Farm Dewelion fragments — available from Castellan Malrog in Fort Karnhold (Castle Siege)
- Farm Needleseye fragments — drops from the Ode Tempest boss encounter
- Unlock Pact Tier 3 upgrades — requires continued Pact levelling via combat and quests
- Attempt Siege events (Mirifuir, Fort Kearnhold, Fort Curlail) for weapon fragments and mats — burn the Skylantern after the castellan
Siege events
Sieges are structured PvE events at captured forts on a ~3-hour loop. Burn the Ode Skylantern for rewards (not from boss kills alone). Currently available:
- Mirifuir — cliff fortress. Three Ode'n Conductors. Rewards include Espadarte (Rapier) and Silistavf (Magick) fragments plus mats.
- Fort Kearnhold — Castellan Malrog (melee). Dewelion fragments after burning the lantern; torch stun helps.
- Fort Curlail — Castellan Huthra (archer). Cannon breach, then runes and materials such as Corrupt Onyx and Crypt Keys (no published weapon fragment pool on Avakot).
For a ~6-hour world-event alternative between sieges, see Hark, the Collector on the Events index.
The Cogah
The Cogah is a hard mode activated by consuming The Cogah Elixir, crafted from Agaric Mushrooms dropped by Agari. Under The Cogah, enemy level increases and enemies grow stronger as you defeat Agari. Unique rewards are available only in Cogah mode. Hard mode ends when you stop playing or die.
Common mistakes
- Carrying underpowered weapons into Sieges — Siege enemies have higher base stats; ensure your weapon is levelled before attempting
- Not upgrading the Pact passive tree — late-game passive nodes significantly change combat capability; prioritise the passive tree alongside weapon crafting
What comes next
After completing Sieges and levelling the full Pact passive tree, the endgame loop opens: repeatable Agari farming under The Cogah, Siege rotations, and optimising your build via the Joineries reforging system.
