Upgrade to Grinn once you have 14 Courage and can farm Midrath fragments—Clivers is an early enemy-drop Common at 25 attack with a 12 Courage gate. — So...
Dendrit twinblade sidearms requiring Courage 12 and Grace attunement. Fragments drop from The Organ, Flayed Reaper, and Etheldred The Weaver. Craft at Tuvalkane using Knotwood×25 and Sproutfolk Frond×25 (10h). The magnetic twinblade design pulls blades together on combo finishers, creating a distinctive closing animation that can catch retreating foes. Post-Preludes 15: 25 ATK, 5% smite chance. A reliable early Courage short blade for dual-wield pressure builds.
Grinn is an Uncommon Sinecure sawblade dagger requiring 14 Grace and Courage combined, delivering some of the strongest Short Blade stats in its tier at 41 base ATK, 82 charged attack, 26 stagger, and 6% smite. It sits on one of the widest patrol tables in Soulframe — 35 listed sources including Bisulcam, Ode'n Bisulcam, Sinecure Elite and Officer variants, Gruul Seeker Ruthos and Sontaro, Crypt Crawler, Ghost Knight, The Circade, Turret Jotar Siege, and a Polearm Rack container, plus an Avakot merchant fragment at 165 Dracs. Craft 2 fragments into a full sawblade at Tuvalkane with Scrap Steel, Ichor, and Corrupt Onyx (10h, 2500 Dracs), then Refine with Chordstones for Temper or Craftwork rolls. Grinn is the natural upgrade from Clivers and shares Sinecure/Nimrod farm routes with Unsula, so most Grace-Courage hybrid builds pick it up on the way to endgame gear. Compare Rostrum for a pure Spirit alternative or the Veilk polearm if you want reach on the same drop tables. The lore casts Grinn as the toothed sawblade of Sinecure trappers — hooked and barbed like wardog teeth, carried on solitary journeys as a fierce, ever-hungry companion.
