Soulframe Runes: How to Get & Equip Them
- Equip a rune: complete The Steelsinger → Nightfold Arsenal → right-click weapon → central Rune slot (+ 4th totem when rune equipped).
- How to get runes: Agari & siege bosses (many Cogah-only) — full 16-rune table on Rune farm locations; Harmony ranks in Arsenal.
- P16: attacks charge Runes with Spirit scaling; Pull Smite gives less charge and charge decays out of combat. Totems activate only in the main hand.

How Runes Work in Soulframe
Endgame gear uses Runes, Enchanting, and Reforging (Joinery) at the Nightfold forge — alongside Oden Tempering and Chordstone refining.
Totems, talismans, and Virtue slots (Preludes 15)
The equipment UI now says Talisman, but patch notes describe a broader Totem rework:
- Equip on the Virtue trifecta — Courage / Spirit / Grace slots (not a single neck-only mental model).
- Totems strengthen how Runes and Smites behave in combat.
- Old inventory Totems convert to Harmony currency on migration — do not mass-delete before reading official patch notes.

Smite and Runes
Smite lights an enemy's soul; Pull Smite (Spectral Sight + light attack) bursts damage and refreshes your active Rune duration. That loop matters more when totems/talismans buff Smite or Regain.

Runes
- Socket-style upgrades on eligible weapons/armour.
- Often tied to rare metals like Moranite (farm guide).
Enchanting
- Adds or rerolls magical affixes on crafted gear.
- Plan queues with the craft timer — jobs run in real time.
Reforging (Joinery)
- Adds or replaces a Virtue attunement pip on a weapon.
- Interacts with Virtue investment — do not reforge your only DPS weapon before a boss gate.
Workflow order (suggested)
- Pick up or craft a base weapon (Tuvalkane or world drop)
- Refine with Chordstones if the drop is worth keeping (guide)
- Temper metals if the piece is Oden-tier (Oden guide)
- Enchant for affixes
- Socket runes; equip totems/talismans last so you do not brick a work-in-progress piece
