Avex is a Rare Ode'n boundbow requiring both Courage 13 and Grace 11, making it the premium dual-virtue ranged option for hybrid Sirin/Duelo builds in Preludes 15. With 45 base ATK, 24 stagger, and a charged shot that can puncture through multiple enemies, it rewards skilled positioning. Farm weapon fragments from Flayed Reaper, Discharged Nimrod, or Gruul Seeker Ruthos — each foe drops fragments that can also appear in Cogah variant encounters. The Avex upgrade path runs through Thistle on pure Grace routes, then branches to Avex once Courage is invested. Forge 3 fragments at Tuvalkane with Knotwood and Sappheline. Alternatively, purchase directly from Avakot merchant for 240 Dracs. Compared to Blitzel (47 ATK, Grace-only), Avex trades 2 ATK for higher virtue flexibility and stronger charged shots. The lore describes a steel-studded boundbow with spider wire pulleys spinning with planetary power — arrows sturdy enough to be wielded as daggers.

Common Sirin bow and the Grace pact starter unlocked through Rise, Envoy. Craft with Scrap Iron×15, Dendrit Weave×20, and Knotwood×15 (4h, 1500 Dracs); no Virtue requirement. Post-Preludes 15: 44 ATK, 110 charged, 18 stagger, 5% smite — a lightweight Rood-style recurve tuned for ranged Grace play. Optional whole-bow previews spawn from the same early containers as other starters (Barrel, Basket, Crate, Sword Rack). Thistle pairs with the Sirin, Duelo, and Wyld Sirin pacts and is one of three Virtue-gate-free starter weapons alongside Gwylen and Nettle, making it the default ranged pick for new Grace players.
