Overview

Fast-paced Grace melee build whose core is Duo Duelo — for a short burst window every weapon swing is mirrored by a ghostly clone at slightly reduced damage. Flintlock provides a piercing ranged burst between melee combos. Bravado boosts party Virtue and slows nearby enemies before you engage. The result is a duelist playstyle that opens with buffs, dumps doubled melee damage, and finishes with a pistol shot.

Unlocked via The Wreck of Mestra Carmo; pairs well with Dewelion thrust combos.

How to unlock Duelo

Complete The Wreck of Mestra Carmo: find the rapier Navalha among Midrath's shipwrecks and defeat Mestra Carmo in a duel. Craft additional copies from the fragment at Tuvalkane.

Core loadout

Weapons

• Dewelion — Grace-attuned rapier (48 ATK, 19 Grace). Unique two-handed thrust heavy combo synergises with forward pressure under Duo Duelo.
• Nettle — Grace short blade sidearm for tight spaces when rapier is awkward.
• Budget primary: Thistle — any Grace-attuned rapier works as a placeholder.

Arcanics

• Flintlock (Courage) — Draw a flintlock pistol and fire a powerful piercing shot through multiple enemies. Use between melee chains or to finish low-HP targets.
• Bravado (Spirit) — Boosts the highest Virtue stat of each party member within range and inflicts a slow effect on nearby enemies. Cast before engaging.
• Duo Duelo (Grace) — All attacks made for the duration strike twice. A ghostly clone mirrors every weapon swing at slightly reduced damage.

Standard rotation (4-step)

1. Bravado — Open by casting Bravado to boost your group's highest Virtue and slow nearby enemies.
2. Duo Duelo — Activate Duo Duelo so a phantom clone mirrors every weapon swing.
3. Melee combo — Close in with Dewelion thrusts; every hit lands twice while Duo Duelo is active.
4. Flintlock finish — Fire Flintlock to burst or finish low-HP targets at range between melee windows.

How to play it

• Always cast Bravado before Duo Duelo — sequencing matters for peak burst when both are active.
• Press advantage during Duo Duelo window — the clone mirrors every hit, so aggressive forward pressure maximises damage.
• Flintlock for range finishers — fire between rapier chains on low-HP or fleeing targets.
• Invest all Virtue into Grace — Duo Duelo and Dewelion scale here; Courage is only for Flintlock's base shot.

Optional community techniques (not verified in-game)

⚠️ Unverified. The following rely on the Olho por Olho passive (chance to apply bleed on hit) and Chamariz (perfect-dodge decoy clone). Community sources report these were tuned after Preludes 14, but this has not been confirmed in-game. Do not rely on them as a core loop.

• Perfect Dodge bleed procs — Short dodge into Arrow Hail or bow shot can apply bleed via Olho por Olho, but Preludes 15 reportedly toned this down. Use opportunistically, not as a primary strategy.
• Chamariz decoy — Perfect Dodge spawns a brief clone that draws aggro. Useful in melee scrambles but requires significant investment.

Koga rotation (community)

• Always Bravado before Duelo: Cast Bravado first, then activate Duo Duelo — the sequencing matters for maximum damage output (qualitatively: extremely high burst when both are active).
• Blue Smite + Noble Nestling combo: When both Bravado and Duo Duelo are re-cast in the same window after a Blue Smite Pull (with Noble Nestling totem), the damage spike is substantial. Charge Rune during the burst window for peak value.
• Alternative opener (Flintlock): Flick Smoke dagger → immediately Flintlock point-blank while Bravado and Duo Duelo are active — aggressive, high-risk entry.
