Quick Answer
Yes — you can fast travel in Soulframe, but it is gated and it costs a consumable. You unlock it by finishing The Waste Bear fable, and every trip then spends one Wevetseed. On the World Map, only markers carrying a golden acorn are valid destinations: cleansed World Trees and Enclaves. Locations, dungeons and Revive Shrines are not.
- Finish The Waste Bear — the fable is the hard gate; until it is done, no travel option appears on your map (Fable 8: The Waste Bear).
- Harvest Wevetseeds at the Wise Elm — in your Nightfold, on the left-hand edge of Verminia's station. It regrows every 12 hours and yields 1–3 seeds (Wevetseed item page).
- Open the World Map and hold left-click on a golden-acorn marker — a cleansed World Tree or an Enclave. Each trip uses 1 Wevetseed.
Historical travel scope: the Wevetseed sources, timings and node descriptions below retain their P15 reference; they are not P16 client checks. P16 adds Revival Shrine matchmaking after Rise, Envoy, near or inside the intended activity, for up to three other Envoys, unavailable under The Cogah. This is separate from World Tree travel and does not establish shared teleportation or map unlocks. Source: Avakot's community patch transcription, not direct official-forum reading or client testing; see Multiplayer & co-op.
- Get your first Wevetseed — complete The Waste Bear fable and defeat the Wazzard of Wastes. The first bundle is a guaranteed, one-time story drop (Wevetseed item page).
- Find a World Tree — a dead tree with a spear embedded in its trunk. Trees appear naturally while exploring; there is no quest gate before the first one. Community maps pin each tree — see the Midrath map tools.
- Pull the spear and activate the network — the surrounding map fog clears, the tree joins your fast-travel network, and you can spend a Wevetseed to travel between any two activated World Trees.
How to unlock fast travel
- Reach Fable 8 in the main quest — progress the story until The Waste Bear opens (main quest order).
- Complete the fable and defeat the Wazzard of Wastes — the first bundle of Wevetseeds is a guaranteed, one-time story drop (Wevetseed).
- Unlock the Wise Elm — after the fable, the Wise Elm in your Nightfold becomes harvestable. It is the only repeatable source; no merchant sells seeds.
- Cleanse World Trees as you explore — a World Tree is a dead tree with a spear in its trunk; pull the spear to clear the map fog and add it to your network. There is no quest gate before the first one.
For fog layers, History Motes, and World Tree vs Enclave, see World Trees & Fast Travel.
How to fast travel step by step
- Open the World Map — the full map, not the minimap. Fast travel can be started from anywhere outdoors.
- Find a golden-acorn marker — a cleansed World Tree or an Enclave. Markers without the acorn cannot be selected.
- Hold left-click on that marker (the press-and-hold input is community-reported — verify in-client) until the travel prompt opens.
- Confirm the travel — one Wevetseed is consumed from your stack.
- Arrive and finish on foot — you land at the tree or Enclave, then walk the rest of the way.
Where you can and can't fast travel
| Destination | Can you fast travel? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| World Tree (cleansed) | ✅ Yes | Pull the spear and it becomes a travel node |
| Enclave | ✅ Yes | Faction hub — see the Factions guide |
| Locations | ❌ No | Travel to the nearest tree or Enclave, then continue on foot |
| Dungeons | ❌ No | Same — there is no in-dungeon travel point |
| Revive Shrines | ❌ No | Respawn checkpoints, not travel nodes |
Only golden acorn markers can be travelled to; a tree whose spear you have not pulled shows no travel point — cleanse it first.
Not shared map progression: the current build adds Revival Shrine matchmaking after Rise, Envoy, near or inside the intended activity, for up to three other Envoys; it is unavailable under The Cogah. That is matchmaking, not a shared teleport or map unlock — see Multiplayer & co-op.
Wevetseeds: where to get them and how many
- The Wise Elm (repeatable) — Nightfold, left-hand edge of Verminia's station; yields 1–3 seeds per 12-hour period. The only farmable source.
- The Wazzard of Wastes (one-time) — a guaranteed bundle during The Waste Bear fable.
- No merchant stock — no vendor sells Wevetseed, so the Elm is your long-term income.
- How many you can hold — our catalog records a stack cap of 100; community reports mention a practical cap of 5 (community-reported — verify in-client).
Line the 12-hour Elm cycle up with your other timed tasks via Daily Reset.
Common problems
- No travel option on my map. Either The Waste Bear is unfinished, or the tree is not cleansed — pull its spear; an un-cleansed tree shows no golden acorn.
- Out of Wevetseeds. Harvest the Wise Elm in Nightfold; if it has not regrown, wait out the 12-hour cycle — there is no vendor.
- Can I travel straight into a dungeon or to a boss? No — travel to the nearest World Tree or Enclave, then run the rest of the way.
- Does my party travel with me? Community documentation says fast travel moves you and your party together (verify in-client); for joining instances see Multiplayer & co-op.
Tips to use fewer seeds
- Batch by region. Finish every errand in one area before spending a seed to leave; one seed should cover a whole zone of work.
- Plan the loop first. Lay the route out in the Farm Planner so you are not bouncing across Midrath.
- Cleanse trees while you quest. Activation is free; a denser tree network means shorter walks.
- Walk the short hops. If a target is one screen away, do not spend a seed — you only get a handful per day.
