Overview

Orengall is a Spirit-based Pact focused on summoning spectral wolves and werewolf transformation. The wolves draw aggro and deal damage independently, Smite provides a powerful crit buff, and Werewolf Form grants burst mobility and melee damage. Excellent for solo play where the wolves effectively function as a personal tank.

How to unlock Orengall

Complete The Shewolf Snared fable. This quest becomes available after progressing through the main story. You will free the Omen Shewolf Orengall and rescue her pups. Upon completion, receive Orengall fragments. Craft the Pact at Tuvalkane (Bond Level 3 required).

Core loadout

• Juniper — Grace-attuned Bow. Good synergy with wolf playstyle — attack from range while wolves tank.
• Gwylen — Spirit-attuned staff. Alternative for Spirit-focused builds.
• Nettle — Grace-attuned Short Blade sidearm. Fast attacks for close-range follow-up.
• Wolf Summon — Spirit Arcanic. Summons spectral wolves that attack enemies and draw aggro. You can switch places with a summoned wolf for repositioning.
• Smite — Courage Arcanic. Grants a critical damage buff that significantly increases burst potential.
• Werewolf Form — Grace Arcanic. Transforms into a werewolf for increased speed and melee damage. Also functions as a travel ability.

How to play it

• Summon wolves first — let them engage and draw aggro before you attack. This keeps you safe while dealing damage from range.
• Activate Smite before burst windows — the crit buff is time-limited, so use it when you have a clear opening on a priority target.
• Werewolf Form for mobility — use it to close distance quickly, burst a target, or escape danger. Don't waste it on trash mobs.
• Switch places with wolves — if a wolf is behind an enemy, swap positions for a free backstab opportunity.
• Feral passive — causes Orengall to appear and finish off low-HP enemies. Prioritise unlocking this in the Pact tree.

• Summon wolves on cooldown — you can cast before combat; let them engage and pull aggro while you position for Arcane Gnosis windows.
• Arcane Gnosis loop: White orbit → Howl → close with light-attack Orbit Blades → when enemies glow, continue hitting before Pulling Smite — Pulling too early ends the burst window prematurely.
• Boss sequence: Wait for the glow window → begin charging a Rune → if the boss survives the window, let wolves hold aggro while you finish with heavy strikes.
• Threat management: If the boss locks onto you, move away and let wolves re-establish aggro before re-engaging.

When to use a different build

• Organized group content — wolf aggro can interfere with a dedicated tank (Tethren). Consider switching to a pure DPS or support Pact in groups.
• Tight indoor spaces — wolf AI struggles in narrow corridors. Ode Tempest or Garren Rood perform better in dungeons with tight layouts.
