Soulframe Tempers: Origins, Learning & Striking
Tempers by Origin · weapon type · Double-Stacked
Tempers are the rolled bonus stat lines on every Soulframe weapon — the reason two copies of the same weapon can feel completely different to use. This is a working catalog of confirmed Tempers, organized by Origin and by which weapon types they can roll on, sourced from the community-maintained Tempers wiki.
P16 current rule: Tuvalkane now learns Tempers from dismantles after The Steelsinger. Each needs 10 points (single 1, doubled 2). To Strike, use a Level 30 compatible weapon and Tuvalkane Rank 3; Legendary is not required. Each change costs 1 Glow + 1 Amber + 1 Faer Lampyrite, cannot fail, and is permanent unless you pay to Strike a learned effect back. Type, Origin and Craftwork slot limits still apply. See Temper Striking.

Quick Answer
- What is a Temper? A rolled modifier that grants a weapon a specific augmented property — extra damage, a status chance, faster charging, and so on.
- How many can a weapon have? Determined by its Craftwork tier — Stock 0–1 up to Legendary 5–8. Enhance Craftwork to Legendary fills eight; P16 Strike can also fill available empty slots within the cap.
- Can the same Temper roll twice? Yes — a Double-Stacked Temper (flashing frame in the tooltip) takes two slots and roughly doubles that Temper's effect.
- Can I replace one bad Temper? Yes — use Strike to select a learned compatible replacement; this is a chosen change, not a random single-slot reroll.
- Do Tempers depend on weapon Origin? Many do — a Temper's frame color shows whether it's Universal or locked to one of five weapon Origins (Cassid, Dendrit, Feykin, Mendicant, Ode'n).
How Tempers work
Tempers are rolled randomly the moment a weapon is first dropped, purchased, or crafted — you don't choose them directly. Two factors gate which Tempers can appear on a given weapon:
- Weapon type — some Tempers only roll on Melee weapons, only on Bows, or only on Magick weapons (Staves/Wrist Casters). There are no Flyblade-exclusive Tempers.
- Weapon Origin — some Tempers are Universal (any Origin), while others are locked to one specific Origin: Cassid, Dendrit, Feykin, Mendicant, or Ode'n.
A weapon can also roll the same Temper twice (Double-Stacked), which uses two of its Temper slots but pushes that Temper's bonus toward double strength — check the Craftwork guide for exactly how many slots a given Craftwork tier allows.

Cassid Origin
Cassid is the newest and smallest weapon Origin (including Espadarte and Navalha), so its Temper pool is thin and partly unconfirmed.

| Afflicted Lurgy | Melee only | Community-catalog entry — effect text not yet confirmed; verify in-client |
| First Strike | Melee only | Community-catalog entry — effect text not yet confirmed; verify in-client |
Double-Stacked Tempers
A weapon can roll the same Temper twice, shown by a flashing frame around the Temper's icon in the tooltip and a dedicated stack icon in the detailed Tempers tab. This uses two Temper slots but pushes most bonuses toward double their single-stack value (confirmed case by case in the tables above — some effects double the chance, others double the magnitude). Multiple different Tempers can each be independently Double-Stacked on the same weapon.
FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What determines how many Tempers a weapon can have? | Its Craftwork tier — see the Craftwork & dismantling guide for the full Stock-to-Legendary slot table. |
| Can I choose which Tempers I get? | Initial rolls are random; P16 Strike selects a learned compatible Temper, replaces an existing slot or fills an empty slot within the Craftwork cap. |
| What's the difference between a Universal and an Origin Temper? | Universal Tempers can roll on any weapon of a matching type (Melee/Bow/Magick/All). Origin Tempers only roll on weapons from that specific Origin — Cassid, Dendrit, Feykin, Mendicant, or Ode'n. |
| How do I replace one bad Temper? | Use Tuvalkane’s Strike tab after meeting the prerequisites; Chaos Chordstone is a separate legacy process. |
| Why does this page mark some effects "not yet confirmed"? | This site does not publish invented numbers. Several Tempers are still tagged "work in progress" on the community wiki itself — we mirror that status rather than guessing at values. |
| Can dismantled Tempers be used on another weapon? | Yes through learning and Striking in P16, not a direct item transfer. Dismantles before Tuvalkane is present are not retroactively learned. |
