Material Farming Routes

Farming Basics

Material farming in Soulframe revolves around three sources: open-world gathering, dungeon chests, and enemy drops. Efficient farming means knowing which source is best for each material and planning routes that cover multiple nodes.

Ways to acquire materials: exploration chests, quest completion, enemy kills, breaking containers (barrels/crates), and purchasing from merchants.

Gossamer Quartz (Uncommon)

The most sought-after early-game material. Used in weapon crafting, armour upgrades, and the Garren Rood Pact.

Acquisition Methods (4 total)

| Method | Details | Reliability | |--------|---------|-------------| | Crypt of the Circade | Sarcophagi have 50% drop chance, requires Crypt Key | ⭐⭐⭐ Most reliable | | Overworld chests | Rare chests have higher chance | ⭐⭐ Random | | Repair broken statues | Play instrument to repair, one-time per statue | ⭐ Non-repeatable | | Avakot merchant | 1,500 Dracs each, limited stock | ⭐⭐ Luck-based encounter |

Crypt of the Circade Details

  • Each entry costs 1 Crypt Key
  • Number of sarcophagi inside is random; each has 50% drop chance
  • Use Spectral Sight to locate sarcophagi more easily
  • Multiple Crypt entrance points exist on the map

Crypt Key Sources

Crypt Keys are themselves rare drops:

  • Overworld enemy drops (Bannerets, Ode'n Knights, etc.)
  • Three-star Sparrow's Tales reward
  • Dungeon rare chests
  • Cannot be purchased — farming only

Recommended Route

  1. Farm overworld enemies to stockpile Crypt Keys (aim for 3-4 before entering)
  2. Enter Crypt of the Circade with keys
  3. Use Spectral Sight to scan for all sarcophagi and open them
  4. Check if Avakot appears on your way back (he spawns randomly during exploration)

Scrap Iron (Common)

Basic crafting material used in nearly every recipe.

Best Sources

  • Overworld ore nodes: Metal nodes scattered across Midrath, each yielding several Scrap Iron
  • Breaking containers: Barrels, crates, and floating containers all drop materials
  • Dermak Undercity: Dense with breakable containers and floating objects — best early farming spot

Recommended Route

Per blast.tv guide recommendations:

  1. Dermak Undercity has abundant breakable containers (including floating ones)
  2. Destroy all containers for Dracs and crafting materials
  3. Re-entering the area resets containers
  4. Run overworld ore nodes while waiting for dungeon resets

Sproutfolk Frond (Common)

Dropped by Sproutfolk enemies. Used in starter weapon crafts and consumables.

Best Source

  • Every Sproutfolk kill drops Fronds
  • Sproutfolk are the weakest enemy type, widely distributed
  • Southern Midrath has multiple Sproutfolk camps

Recommended Route

  1. Southern Midrath low-level areas have dense Sproutfolk
  2. Camps respawn quickly after clearing
  3. Good for practicing combat while farming

Weapon Fragments

Weapons don't drop directly — you collect Fragments to craft them at Tuvalkane's station.

Fragment Sources by Weapon

| Weapon | Fragment Source | |--------|---------------| | Vetch (Long Blade) | Sparrow's Tales quest rewards | | Unsula (Short Blades) | Rare chests | | Juniper (Bow) | Hidden chest | | Rook (Polearm) | Kill Corrupted Stag at night / Sparrow's Tales | | Igne Mora (Long Blade) | Find and absorb Fenn Jotar's soul in Dermak Undercity | | Duhk Halic (Polearm) | Heal corrupted World Trees | | Navalha (Long Blade) | The Wreck of Mestra Carmo quest reward |

Crafting Flow

  1. Collect enough fragments (check progress in Codex)
  2. Gather required crafting materials
  3. Craft at Tuvalkane's station in the Nightfold
  4. Requires completing The Steelsinger quest first

Dracs (Currency)

Universal in-game currency for purchases and dialogue options.

Best Sources

  • Breaking containers: Barrels and crates are the most consistent Dracs source
  • Dermak Undercity: Container-dense, ideal for Dracs farming
  • Enemy kills: Small amounts per kill
  • Sparrow's Tales: Procedurally generated short quests

Ode'n Moaners (XP Farming)

Special rock structures found near water.

Farming Method

  • Locate Ode'n Moaners (strange rock structures near water)
  • Destroy both of their heads
  • Each grants approximately 1000 XP
  • Reloading the area resets them for repeated farming

Recommended Use

  • Quick weapon leveling without combat difficulty
  • No combat skill required, suitable for low-level characters
  • Weapons level to 30, unlocking Combat Art points

Community-reported method — verify in-game for current Preludes.

Virtue Liths (Stat Respec)

Consumables for redistributing Virtue points.

Acquisition Methods

  • Fort of Curlail Siege completion rewards (chance)
  • Defeating Agari world bosses (chance)
  • Completing Omen Beast and Ancestor Fables
  • Founders Pack purchase

Agari World Bosses

Mini-bosses distributed across the open world. Important material sources.

Key Info

  • Scattered across Midrath
  • Respawn on a cooldown timer after defeat
  • Drop rare materials and Virtue Liths (chance)
  • Can be fought in co-op for faster kills

Recommended Strategy

  1. Use the Agari Timer tool to track respawn times
  2. Gather ore nodes and break containers while traveling between spawns
  3. Co-op kills are faster, enabling more runs per hour
  4. Learn each Agari's 2-3 attack patterns

General Farming Tips

  1. Use the Agari Timer — track boss respawns, never miss a kill window
  2. Combine routes — gather materials while traveling between objectives
  3. Break every container — seems minor but adds up significantly
  4. Dermak Undercity is the best early farm — container-dense, repeatable
  5. Spectral Sight finds hidden loot — many chests and materials require it
  6. Sparrow's Tales fill gaps — procedural short quests reward materials and XP
  7. Avakot spawns randomly — watch for him during exploration, he may sell rare materials
