What is the Crypt of the Circade?
The Crypt of the Circade is a special key-gated dungeon in Soulframe. Unlike other dungeons, it requires a Crypt Key to enter, has a single life rule (no Sparrow respawn), and contains unique ghost-type enemies and hidden puzzles not found elsewhere.
How to Unlock & Enter
Get Crypt Keys — drop from heavy enemies: Banneret, Ode'n Knight, Corrupted Ode Dog, Etheldred Weaver, Brute Corrupted Sproutfolk, and Sinecure Knight. Keys also drop from Faction Tales. Bring 3–4 per session.
Entrances (3 locations):
- Northeastern Midrath graveyard
- Southern Midrath graveyard near Fort Kearnhold (recommended — closest to dungeon exit)
- Southeast of Mirifuir graveyard
Use a Crypt Key on the large glowing blue sarcophagus and jump in. Each run consumes one key.
What's Inside
- Ghost-type enemies (mostly magic damage) — not found in other dungeons
- Sarcophagi: loot for Gossamer Quartz and Sappheline (~50% drop chance each)
- Pressure plates and environmental puzzles leading to extra chests
- Final boss: The Circade
Prepare: Balance magic defense before entering. The Circade applies sustained magic damage — pure physical armor is not enough.
One-Time Rewards (Puzzles)
Circade Armour Set
In the final boss room, strike ten glowing blue gems in the correct order (order matches the room layout — cross-reference your minimap). When all gems are active, the iron bars around the final sarcophagus lower. Claim the full armour set with no extra crafting required.
Triune Talisman
Find three murals tied to The Circade's three aspects (dawn, dusk, midnight). At each mural, lure The Circade into the mural's activation zone and defeat them there to earn the matching Pendant. Combine all three Pendants to craft the Triune Talisman.
Gossamer Quartz Farm
The Crypt is the most reliable source of Gossamer Quartz in Soulframe. Each lootable sarcophagus has approximately a 50% drop chance.
Farm tip: Use Spirit Vision (hold E on PC) constantly — it highlights lootable sarcophagi, hidden paths, and puzzle interactables.
Only farm when you need materials — Crypt Keys are scarce. Avoid burning keys without a specific goal.
Tips
- Bring 3–4 Crypt Keys per session
- Use the Fort Kearnhold entrance — it is closest to the dungeon exit
- Attack just before landing to cancel fall damage
- Hold Spirit Vision throughout to spot sarcophagi and puzzle elements
- Magic defense armor is essential — most enemies deal magic damage
