Mid-Game Dungeon Guide

Dungeon Overview

Soulframe currently has four dungeon types; each run uses a procedurally generated layout (often referred to by the developers as Tilesets or Procsets). All dungeons contain chests, wandering souls, and a boss or Agari at the end. Your Sparrow guides you to the final treasure room or boss.

There are currently 28 known dungeon entrances across Midrath. For precise entrance locations, see the interactive map at soulframe.th.gl.

Dermak Undercity

Unlock: Available from early game. First encountered during The Torment Stag quest.

Lore: Built from granite during the reign of Fenn Jotar, the Undercity's tunnels reach through much of Midrath. They now stand as relics of the Ode'n war era.

Enemies: Sinecure soldiers, Ode casters, Reaper (Agari), Sinecure-Errant Vella (Agari)

Entrances: Multiple well entrances across Midrath — north of Luminns, near the Tower of Pensives, near Mines of Borro, and elsewhere.

What to do:

  • Follow your Sparrow to the final chest room
  • Use Spectral Sight to spot interactable objects and hidden paths
  • Wandering souls appear at dungeon entrances — bond with them for a temporary fourth Arcanic slot

Glades of Andurin

Unlock: Entrances activate after you complete The Torment Stag.

Lore: Once an enchanted forest glade inhabited by Picktrix creatures. Corrupted by Ode'n Ichor, it is now a nest for hostile wildlife and Sinecure forces.

Enemies: Corrupted wildlife, Sinecure forces, Seachnall The Widower (Agari), Fore-Feller Hewyl (Agari)

Entrances: Multiple entrances — south of Fort Curlail, Wyndoun, Wevet Ridge, Uplands, and others.

Special mechanic — Arena mode: While exploring a Glades instance, an arena encounter may trigger at random. Survive the waves for bonus rewards and Weapon / Pact XP.

What to farm:

  • Picktrix materials
  • Weapon fragments from chests
  • Agari drops from Seachnall The Widower and Fore-Feller Hewyl

Neath'uns

Unlock: Complete the Brewer of Hues quest and recruit Verminia, then play through and finish The Waste Bear fable — dungeon entrances open afterward.

Lore: Unlocked alongside the Bromius Pact. A cave system in northeastern Midrath, gnawed by corrupted roots and foul Ichor. After the fable, Bromius is saved from corruption; you can forge the Bromius Pact for three new abilities.

Enemies: Rotted Sproutfolk, Rotted Sproutling, Weaver spiders, Gourdo (Agari), Gruul Seeker Sontaro (Agari)

Entrances: Four known entrances (Neath Portal A–D) in northeastern Midrath — near Digsite, Slane, Moray, and Council.

Special mechanic — purple runes: Purple runes appear throughout the dungeon. Hit them with ranged attacks to release water, grow root bridges, and open the way forward. If you hit a gap you cannot cross, search nearby walls for runes.

Tips:

  • Gourdo is melee-heavy — ranged attacks or spells trivialize the fight
  • Gruul Seeker Sontaro deals high ranged damage; keep moving and use cover

Crypt of the Circade

Unlock: You need at least one Crypt Key. Keys drop from heavy enemies: Banneret, Ode'n Knight, Corrupted Ode Dog, Etheldred Weaver, Brute Corrupted Sproutfolk, and Sinecure Knight. You can also earn keys from Faction Tales.

Special rules: Single life — you cannot respawn via Sparrow after death. Enter prepared. Most enemies deal magic damage, so armor with solid magic defense helps.

Entrances: Three graveyard entrances — northeastern Midrath, southern Midrath (near Fort Kearnhold), and southeast of Mirifuir. Use a Crypt Key on the large sarcophagus that glows blue and jump in (each run consumes one key).

What's inside:

  • Sarcophagi can drop Gossamer Quartz and other rare materials (exact rates are not officially confirmed)
  • Ghost-type enemies not found elsewhere, mostly magic damage
  • Pressure plates and environmental puzzles leading to extra chests
  • Final boss: The Circade

One-time rewards (puzzles):

  • Circade armour set — In the final boss room, complete the hidden puzzle by striking ten glowing blue gems in the correct order (order matches the room layout; use the minimap). When all are active, the iron bars around the final sarcophagus lower; claim the full set with no extra crafting.
  • Triune Talisman — Find three murals tied to The Circade's three aspects (dawn, dusk, midnight). At each mural, lure The Circade into the mural's activation zone and defeat them there to earn the matching Pendant. Combine all three Pendants to craft the Triune Talisman.

Best farming use: Gossamer Quartz and Sappheline. Farm only when you need these materials — Crypt Keys are scarce; avoid burning them without a goal.

Community tips:

  • Bring 3–4 Crypt Keys per run
  • Prefer the entrance near Fort Kearnhold — closest to the dungeon exit, saving a lot of travel time
  • Attack just before landing to cancel fall damage
  • Hold Spirit Vision while exploring to highlight lootable sarcophagi, hidden routes, and key interactables

General Dungeon Tips

  • Sparrow guidance: Press G to summon your Sparrow anytime. In dungeons it leads to the final treasure room or boss.
  • Wandering souls: Bond at entrances for a temporary fourth Arcanic slot — using it well noticeably improves combat tempo.
  • Weapon XP: Dungeons are efficient for weapon and Pact rank, especially Glades arena mode.
  • Chests: Every dungeon type has loot chests — open rare (glowing) chests first.
  • Spirit Vision / Spectral Sight: Use them constantly for hidden paths, interactables, and Motes. In Crypt of the Circade they are especially important for sarcophagi and puzzle elements.
  • Loadout: Before Crypt runs, balance magic defense; The Circade's boss applies sustained magic pressure.
