How to Change Factions in Soulframe

Q: Does Soulframe have a tutorial?

Yes. The opening quest Rise Envoy serves as the tutorial, guiding you through basic controls, the Nightfold hub, and your first objectives via the Sparrow guide.

Q: Which Pact should I pick first?

For new players: Oscelda (Spirit) for casters and support, Tethren (Courage) for melee, Sirin (Grace) for stealth and ranged. Oscelda has the most forgiving skill kit.

Q: How do I remove fog of war from the map?

Find World Trees — dead trees with spears in them. Pull out the spear to reveal the surrounding area on your map.

Q: What are Motes and where do I find them?

Motes are glowing collectibles that unlock location names and codex entries. Only one spawns per area per in-game day, so revisit areas regularly.

Q: Does Soulframe support multiplayer?

Yes. You can team up with up to 3 players to explore Midrath and complete quests together.

Q: What is the Nightfold?

The Nightfold is your personal hub. You can access it at any time outside of combat to swap weapons, upgrade Pacts, craft items, and interact with Ancestor NPCs.

Q: What are Agari and how are they different from bosses?

Agari are respawning sub-bosses that drop crafting materials and Agaric Mushrooms for The Cogah hard mode. They respawn approximately 30 minutes after being defeated.

Q: What is Spectral Sight?

Spectral Sight is a mode that highlights interactable objects, helps find Motes, and triggers special interactions like Smiting enemies or bonding with wandering souls.

Q: How do I unlock Tuvalkane the Blacksmith?

Head east from the starting area to a crater with enemies. Clear the enemies, collect the helmet at the centre, then follow your Sparrow to the abandoned forge nearby.

Requirements: Torment Stag complete, Rank 3 on current Enclave, Sacred Shimmer from your Favours shop.
Steps: Craft the target Enclave Talisman at Tuvalkane → equip it → speak to that Enclave's leader.
After switch: Old Enclave Standing & Rank retained; shop stock follows equipped Talisman — no switch cooldown (Avakot).

How to Change Factions in Soulframe

You are not locked to your first Enclave forever. Per Avakot Enclaves, switching has no cooldown and does not delete progress on factions you leave.

Requirements

Complete The Torment Stag and unlock the faction system (overview).
Rank 3 on your current Enclave (needed for Sacred Shimmer in the Favours shop).
Craft the target Enclave Talisman at Tuvalkane, equip it, then talk to that Enclave's leader.

What happens when you switch

Standing and Rank on your old Enclave are retained — they do not carry to the new shop, but you can swap back without redoing that faction's grind.
Shop stock and Sparrow's Tales follow your currently equipped Enclave.
Unlocked cosmetics and titles generally stay on your account; rank-gated recipes for the new Enclave require grinding that faction's Standing again.

When to switch

Your build needs a Rank 5 recipe only sold by another faction.
You want a different Faction Tale boss farm (Agari route).

When to stay

You are close to the next rank reward.
Your Garren Rood farm route depends on current tales.

Confirm Sacred Shimmer cost and Talisman recipes in the Faction UI after each Preludes patch.
