Mockery enemies (Preludes 15)

Mockery enemies are high-damage soul-class foes introduced in Preludes 15 that appear in crypts, dungeons, and certain overworld zones. They replace previous Ode-class mobs in crypt-type areas and have unique behaviour patterns.

Behaviour patterns

Mockery enemies have distinct tells compared to standard Ode mobs:

• Soul leash: Mockeries tether to nearby Ode allies, gaining damage resistance while the tether holds. Break the tether by killing the Ode ally first.
• Phantom phase: At ~30% HP, Mockeries briefly phase into a spectral state — immune to physical damage, vulnerable to Spirit-scaling Arcanics.
• Graveyard respawns: Mockeries in crypt zones respawn on a short timer (~3–5 minutes per community reports) unless the sarcophagus source object is destroyed.
• No boss gate: Mockery enemies are standard field mobs, not boss encounters — they do not have dedicated boss pages but share drop pools with their zone's loot table.

Farming Mockery for materials

Mockery enemies in Kearnhold SE crypt drop from the same pool as the crypt's sarcophagi and chests. This makes them an efficient add-clear target while farming Moranite and Sappheline.

Recommended loop for Kearnhold:

1. Enter SE crypt. Clear the first Mockery pack (2–3 mobs).
2. Open sarcophagi while Mockeries respawn — focus the tethering Ode allies first.
3. Loop through the crypt's two chambers, checking chests between Mockery respawns.
4. Extract after ~4–5 loops or when inventory fills.

Combat tips

• Bring a weapon with Spirit scaling or equip a Spirit Arcana for the phantom phase — Lightning damage also works per community testing.
• Do not aggro an entire crypt room at once. Mockery tether chains can stack, making the pack nearly unkillable.
• If a Mockery enters phantom phase while surrounded, kite it toward a sarcophagus exit — phantom forms do not follow through zone transitions.
