Oden's Convoy & Caelam Stone

The Ode to Oden opening allows you to link up with an Oden trade convoy, endure an assault, and receive a Caelam Stone — the catalyst for gear mastery. This guide covers scheduling, survival, and post-convoy crafting.

How to start

1. Reach the Ode to Oden fable trigger (east of Midrath, near the crater camp where Tuvalkane is unlocked).
2. Interact with the Oden convoy NPC at the marked rally point.
3. Prepare for a multi-wave Sinecure assault — the convoy will be attacked while you escort it to the destination.

Convoy mechanics

• Wave structure: Expect 3–5 waves of Sinecure enemies (soldiers, archers, officers) during the escort.
• Convoy health: Keep the Oden NPC alive — if the convoy leader falls, the encounter fails and you must restart from the rally point.
• Timers: The encounter does not use a global cooldown timer like Hark (~6 h) or sieges (~3 h). It is fable-gated — run it whenever the quest is active.
• After completion: You receive a Caelam Stone, which unlocks the Temper system at Tuvalkane's Nightfold forge.

Post-convoy crafting

Once you hold a Caelam Stone, visit Tuvalkane in Nightfold:

Tempering pairs with Oden & Tempering for the full mastery ladder. Without a Caelam Stone, the Temper tab at Tuvalkane remains locked.

Survival tips

• Bring a weapon with AoE reach — Sinecure waves include multiple archers who shoot from range.
• Stock Life Elixirs before the convoy: at least 3–5 to survive the full wave count. See Life Elixirs farming.
• Equip a Pact with crowd-control Arcanics (Tethren Spirit or Sirin Grace line) to handle wave overlap.
• If the Oden NPC takes damage, burst the nearest Sinecure officer — officers buff surrounding soldiers.

Story convoy vs overworld patrols

This guide covers the fable escort that awards your first Caelam Stone. Separately, Preludes 15 added roaming Ode'n Caelam cargo drones on Midrath roads — same Oden theme, different loop (intercept patrols for chest-tier loot, not the fable reward). Do not confuse either with Mendicant Reinbreaker in New Viscii. For open-world intercept timing, pair the boss entry with Pigwen Skerry and elite hunting.

Caelam Stone usage and Temper costs may shift between Preludes patches. Verify in the Tuvalkane UI after each hotfix. If the convoy fails partway through, you must restart from the rally point — completion is not checkpointed.
